Considered to be kind of the ancient Japanese art of Bonsai, Ficus Ginseng, or Bonsai Tree, is native to Southeast Asian tropical areas and Ginseng is Chinese for “root”. This plant grows with densely oval-shaped, dark green foliage and its root trunk is thick and bulbous, reddish-gray with tiger-like stripes.

This plant grows faster and is easier to care for than other bonsai species, making it great for first-timers. It is evergreen.

Ficus Ginseng is very effective in improving indoor air quality. In Fengshui, this plant is believed to bring good luck to its owners.
Bright, indirect sunshine in the morning and placing it on a windowsill is appreciated. Afternoon sunlight may be too harsh for this plant.
